February and March have a few upcoming events which are not to be missed.
For Cheltenham residents wanting to enjoy a family day with fine foods, wine and amazing local musical talent (blues, jazz, funk and rock), well keep Saturday 1st and Sunday 2nd March free in your diaries, hop in your cars and head down to the Mordialloc Food, Wine & Music Festival. One of my absolute favourite singers, Kylie Auldist, will be performing (with the Glenroy All Stars) on the Saturday. I highly recommend listening to her performance, particularly if you’re a fan of soul and oldschool funk. Other great acts include Saskwatch, Vika & Linda and many many more.
On Friday 7th March, Kingston Council is hosting a morning tea to recognise and celebrate International Women’s Day. This event will be held at Doyle’s Bridge Hotel in Mordialloc 9:30am to 12 noon. Bookings are essential as places are limited. Please contact firstname.lastname@example.org for further information.
Also, watch this space for information on Cheltenham Bowls Club events in March. I have been lucky enough to have met many members at Cheltenham Bowls Club, a close knit club with the finest and best maintained bowling greens in Victoria. Currently Cheltenham’s Saturday Pennant Div 1 Side is sitting 2nd on the ladder, narrowly trailing Yarra Glen.
If you’re interested in a social bowl or having a birthday or function at a bowls club, look no further than Cheltenham Bowls Club. Friday nights is their barefoot bowls night for the public and I highly recommend checking it out.
