Cheltenham has been following in the footsteps of the inner-city market, developing several new apartment complexes and townhouses over the past couple of years.
One of the more recent developments which commenced in 2012 and is now mid-way complete, is the boutique project known as Central Park, a residential townhouse development centered around Cheltenham’s newest park. Located on Cavanagh Street, Cheltenham, Central Park (pictured below) offers a range of six different contemporary home styles, all named after flowers.Although this stretch of Cavanagh St is currently full of dirt/sand/mud, there is no doubt in my mind that once this development has been completed, it will be a stunning tree-lined complex and will add value to the immediate surrounding pocket in Cheltenham.
Due to strong growth in the more traditional and inner-market developments, apartment developments in Cheltenham became more viable and profitable for developers in 2012. In 2013, there have been several proposed along with several approved apartment blocks. Time will tell if the off-the-plan Cheltenham will continue to sell strong (now that multiple apartment blocks/developers are competing against one another at the same time).
Other notable apartments include No.9 on Chesterville Road which is aiming to achieve a seven-star energy rating, along with several apartment sites along Nepean Hwy, Charman Rd, Park Rd, Garfield St and Station Rd.
